Chances are for those who are well prepared for it. Steve Jobs, an ordinary staff in the video game company, starts his business in his friend’s garage within only 20 dollars. And now he has developed many compact and portable Apple products. His wisdom and efforts have inspired many generations of youth and greatly contribute to world technological development. While up to now, I have not yet experienced any real entrepreneurship, I have tasted sweetness and hardship of similar entrepreneurship from my primary school experience.

Enlightened by my friend, I had created a drawing- based game in which users drew maze, turntable, and shopping facilities according to players’ description. As the initiator of the game, I had shortage in painting, so I asked those who were good at painting to help me run the game. However, to my dismay, those painting talents replaced my throne, and became the host of this game. To turn the situation back, I put all my energy in drilling painting and reversed the game. While the situation had gradually improved and some customers recognized my game, I was reported by competitors for the excuse that my game had hindered students’s study, so our head teacher did not allow us to play the game again. Concluding from last failure, I devised a new game named Knowledge Quiz, in which I asked classmates’ questions from exercise books and textbooks. After gaining teachers’ permission and support, I committed to solving the class system problems. After twists and turns, my game had become a monopoly in our class. Childish and simple as this game may seem, it has taught me a lesson that the road along entrepreneurship mixed with ups and downs. To stand out among crowds and to be successful in entrepreneurship, we should keep pace with times and traced customers’ demands with perseverance.

Additionally, to outperform in such highly competitive market, we also needed to acquire some professional business knowledge. At the end of Senior Grade One, I participated in Future Business Leaders of America competition where I was selected on the strength of my dual individual-championship in global business and marketing. Under the circumstances where four other members of our team had poor performance in competition, my partner and I successfully saw the final FBLA competition through with rank of 6th out of 15 global teams.

While I have congested some knowledge in the area of business and have extraordinary performance in FLBA competition, I think there are much more knowledge for me to quest for in the area of Business. Inspired by Caroline, a heroine from the movie of Two Broken Girls who was proud of her Wharton education, I wanted to experience the charm of Wharton education personally. Wharton School, the world’s first collegiate school of business at the University of Pennsylvania, maintains a long tradition of educating visionary business leaders in academia, business, government, and not-for-profit organizations and becomes the most comprehensive source of business knowledge in the world. I believe under such a highly intensive environment and under such strong business atmosphere, I will learn the most professional business knowledge and deepen my understanding on entrepreneurship which will lay a solid foundation for my future development in the area of business.

It would be highly appreciated if you can take my application into careful consideration.
